Three Services, Each Defined by What It Involves and What It Costs
Warisan Advocate offers a focused set of pension legal services. Each has a clear scope and a fixed fee, so clients know from the outset what they are engaging and at what cost.
Back to HomeHow We Approach Each Engagement
Every engagement begins with a clear understanding of the client's situation and an honest assessment of what is available to them under Malaysian pension law. We do not proceed with formal work until the client has a complete picture of what is involved, what it will cost, and what outcomes are realistically possible.
Documents are reviewed in full before any submission is made. Correspondence with relevant authorities is handled in writing, with copies kept for the client's records. Where timelines are uncertain — as they frequently are in pension matters — we say so plainly and provide updates at agreed intervals.
Engagement Sequence
-
01
Initial enquiry by phone, email, or form — no documentation needed at this stage
-
02
Consultation arranged; client explains situation in their own words
-
03
Written summary note provided — client's to keep regardless of what they decide next
-
04
If client wishes to proceed: written engagement terms, document checklist, and commencement of work
-
05
Regular written updates until the matter reaches a conclusion
Initial Pension Consultation
A first conversation with counsel familiar with Malaysian pension frameworks. The client explains their situation; counsel sets out, in plain language, what the relevant rules are and what realistic options remain open. The session ends with a short written note that is yours to keep. There is no obligation to proceed with any further work.
- Plain-language explanation of applicable pension legislation
- Assessment of realistic options available to the client
- Written summary note provided at end of session
- No further obligation or commitment required
Fixed Fee
RM 480
Process Steps
1. Client contacts us to arrange a time. 2. Session held in person or by phone, typically 60–90 minutes. 3. Written note prepared and sent within two working days.
Pension Calculation & Recalculation Request
Where a pension appears to have been calculated on incorrect figures or service periods, we prepare a formal recalculation request to the relevant authority. The work covers verification of records, drafting of the submission, preparation of supporting documentation, and follow-up correspondence. Timelines for government pension matters can be lengthy; we do not create false impressions of how quickly these processes move.
- Verification of service records and pension figures
- Identification of discrepancy with reference to relevant regulations
- Drafting and filing of formal recalculation request
- Follow-up correspondence with the authority until a decision is issued
- Client kept informed at each stage
Fixed Fee
RM 900
Process Steps
1. Document collection: service records, payslips, appointment letters. 2. Record review and discrepancy identification. 3. Formal submission drafted and filed. 4. Ongoing correspondence until decision received.
Survivor Pension Claim Preparation
Preparation of a survivor pension claim on behalf of a spouse or dependant following the loss of a loved one. The work is conducted with care for the family's circumstances. Documents are gathered patiently, sensitive information is handled in private, and meetings are scheduled at the family's pace. A complete list of documents needed is provided in advance, so nothing is requested unexpectedly during a difficult period.
- Advance document checklist so no surprise requests are made
- Meetings arranged at the family's convenience
- Confidential handling of all personal and financial documents
- Claim prepared and submitted in full to the relevant authority
- Follow-up until the claim is processed and a decision issued
Fixed Fee
RM 1,500
Process Steps
1. Initial phone call or meeting to understand the family's situation. 2. Document list provided — no surprises. 3. Claim prepared with supporting documentation. 4. Submission and correspondence handled until decision.
Choosing the Right Service
If you are uncertain which service applies to your situation, the initial consultation is the natural starting point. Counsel will advise on the appropriate next steps during that session.
